The inn was first mentioned in documents in 1476. It is thus one of the oldest buildings in St. Wolfgang and served as a hospice for pilgrims and a brewery at that time. In 1694 a bakery was also opened in the building. The additional name “Seeböckenhaus” was then added to the inn’s name.
